The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest following the fatal shooting of a 7-year-old boy in northern Pulaski County.

According to investigators, deputies responded around 6:06 p.m. on July 7 to the 24000 block of Highway 107 after receiving reports of a shooting.
When deputies arrived, they found 7-year-old Everett Deaver suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. MEMS transported the child to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The Jacksonville North Pulaski School District identified the victim as Everett Deaver, a student at Bayou Meto Elementary School.
The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office announced that an arrest has been made in connection with the investigation. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the suspect or additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
The investigation remains active, and investigators say additional information will be released as it becomes available.
All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
