Abram Skarda, a dedicated public servant and experienced legal professional, has officially announced his candidacy for Prosecuting Attorney serving White and Prairie counties.

Skarda is a graduate of Harding Academy High School in Searcy and earned his undergraduate degree summa cum laude from Arkansas State University in 2011. He went on to receive his law degree magna cum laude from the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law in 2014.
From 2015 to 2016, Skarda served as a law clerk for the Honorable D.P. Marshall Jr. on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas, gaining valuable insight into federal judicial proceedings.
Since 2020, Skarda has worked as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for the 17th Judicial District, successfully prosecuting a wide range of cases, including multiple murder trials, rape cases, and felony theft cases, all resulting in guilty verdicts. His courtroom experience has prepared him to effectively advocate for victims and uphold the rule of law.
Skarda also serves as County Attorney for Prairie County, a position designated by County Judge Rebecca McCoy and established by statute. In that role, he advises county officials on legal matters and helps address the legal needs of local government.
Outside of his legal career, Skarda is married to Courtney Skarda, a sixth-grade teacher who has served in education since 2012. The couple remains active in the community and committed to supporting local families and schools.
“I believe in the importance of justice and the role it plays in our communities,” Skarda said. “As Prosecuting Attorney, I will work tirelessly to ensure our legal system is fair, effective, and accountable. I am committed to protecting victims while ensuring justice is served.”
Skarda invites residents of White and Prairie counties to learn more about his campaign and become involved as he seeks to strengthen public safety and uphold the integrity of the justice system.
