Mayor Seth Connell announced that the Fairfield Bay City Council has unanimously approved an infrastructure grant project that had been delayed for six years, clearing the way for new improvements aimed at boosting tourism and community events.

Connell said the grant was originally developed during the administration of former Mayor Paul Wellenberger to address infrastructure needs in Fairfield Bay. City leaders worked to resolve issues that had stalled the project, allowing it to finally move forward.
The approved project includes construction of an outdoor stage for concerts and public events, along with a new parking lot designed to accommodate tourists and ATV users. City officials say the improvements are intended to support growing event attendance and recreational tourism.
Mayor Connell called the approval a major step for the community, saying it reflects a shift from planning to action after years of delays. City leaders say construction timelines and next steps will be announced as project planning and permitting move forward.
Officials added that the improvements are part of broader efforts to strengthen Fairfield Bay’s infrastructure and enhance amenities for residents and visitors.
