Mayor Seth Connell announced a major gift to the community on Wednesday.
The donation could prove vital in emergencies.
Survival Flight Inc presented an automated external defibrillator to the Fairfield Bay Senior Center. This AED equips seniors with immediate heart rescue tools.
City Councilwoman Bella Comas spearheaded the effort over several months. Her dedication secured the life-saving device.
Councilwoman Comas gave the following statement regarding the new donation:
“Survival ground and flight are the real heroes…”
Senior Center Director Judy Cervantes initiated the request that sparked the process. Her proactive step highlighted community needs.
Cervantes commented:
“Many thanks to the Survival Flight group for their more than generous donation to the Senior Community Center. I would also like to thank the two wonderful Survival Flight employees who spent hours training 8 of us on who, where, what, when and how to use this AED. I only hope we never have to implement that training.”
Local leaders express gratitude for the supporters’ affection for Fairfield Bay. This act strengthens the town’s safety net.
