Arkansas State University–Beebe proudly announces that Brad J. Cooper, advanced instructor in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) at the university’s Searcy campus, has earned the prestigious Certified Master HVACR Educator (CMHE) credential from HVAC Excellence — a distinction held by only 159 professionals nationwide and just three in Arkansas.

This elite certification recognizes mastery in both technical HVACR knowledge and instructional excellence, underscoring ASU-Beebe’s position as a statewide leader in skilled trades education.
“This certification isn’t just a personal milestone—it’s a promise to my students,” said Cooper. “It means they’re learning from someone who’s been vetted at the highest level, both technically and academically. In a field where precision and safety matter, trust is everything. The CMHE helps me better prepare students for real-world careers, not just exams. It’s about legacy, integrity, and giving them every advantage I can.”
At ASU-Beebe’s Searcy campus, Cooper leads hands-on HVACR training and curriculum development, ensuring that students graduate with stackable industry credentials and real-world readiness.
Under his leadership, the HVACR program has introduced a newly developed curriculum that allows students to earn a Certificate of Proficiency or a Technical Certificate, integrating ground source heat pump training and measureQuick diagnostics. These innovations connect students with cutting-edge tools, technologies, and mentorship opportunities that align with current industry needs.
Cooper recently earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Organizational Supervision from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in higher education. His teaching philosophy combines technical rigor, humor, storytelling, and cultural awareness, reflecting his deep commitment to inclusive advising and servant leadership.
Beyond ASU-Beebe, Cooper contributes part-time to the HVAC School in Florida, writes and co-authors technical blogs for Kalos Services, guest-hosts industry podcasts, and presents at national HVAC events such as the HVAC School Symposium. He also serves as an official instructor for the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA) and as a measureQuick trainer.
Through his collaboration with the Arkansas HVACR Association and the Arkansas Instructors Council, Cooper is helping shape a statewide apprenticeship model and transferable associate degree framework that strengthen the future of HVACR education in Arkansas.
