A 43-year-old Jacksonville man has been arrested on 14 counts involving the alleged possession of child sexual abuse material, according to Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin.

Agents with the Attorney General’s Special Investigations Division arrested Micheal Heird on 14 counts of pandering or possession of visual or print medium depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child.
According to Griffin’s office, agents executed a search warrant at a residence on Aug. 12 after receiving a cybertip from Google.
Investigators allege that a device found in Heird’s possession contained multiple images identified as Child Sexual Abuse Material, commonly known as CSAM. Agents also seized multiple electronic devices for additional examination.
Heird was arrested following the search and booked into the Pulaski County Detention Facility.
“This is a sickening crime that exploits innocent children,” Griffin said while announcing the arrest.
Griffin credited agents with his Special Investigations Division for their work. He also thanked the Jacksonville Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations and Metropolitan Emergency Medical Services for assisting with the operation.
The Attorney General’s Office did not release additional information concerning Heird’s bond, his next scheduled court appearance or whether investigators expect additional charges.
The 14 charges filed against Heird are allegations. Heird is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
