American Legion Post 16 To Hold September 11 Remembrance Ceremony In Conway
The Theodore Campbell Post 16 of the American Legion will host a commemorative program in Conway marking the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
The Patriot Day and National Day of Service and Remembrance program will begin at 8 a.m. Friday, September 11, at Veterans Plaza in Pompe Park.
Pompe Park is located on Prince Street in Conway.
The ceremony will provide an opportunity for the community to remember the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives in the attacks and honor the survivors, first responders, members of the military and others who served following the tragedy.
Patriot Day is observed nationally each September 11 in remembrance of those killed during the attacks in New York City, at the Pentagon and aboard United Airlines Flight 93.
The National Day of Service and Remembrance also encourages Americans to honor those affected by the attacks through community service and acts of kindness.
Members of the public are invited to attend the Conway observance.
Parking will be available on both the east and west sides of Pompe Park.
The program is being organized by the Theodore Campbell Post 16 of the American Legion in Conway.
