Searcy To Celebrate 175th Anniversary With Special City Hall Event

The City of Searcy is preparing to celebrate 175 years of history, community and progress with a special anniversary event Monday, September 28, 2026.

The celebration will begin at 6 p.m. at Searcy City Hall and will highlight the people, places and stories that have helped shape the community since Searcy was established in 1851.

The White County Historical Society is hosting the event.

The evening will feature a special presentation on the history of Searcy, giving those attending an opportunity to learn more about the city’s development and the generations of residents who have helped build the community.

One of the highlights of the celebration will be the unveiling of surveying equipment that was used to lay out Searcy’s original streets.

The historic equipment offers a direct connection to the city’s earliest days and the planning that helped establish the community residents know today.

Refreshments will also be served during the celebration.

City residents, local families and those interested in Searcy and White County history are invited to attend the anniversary event.

Searcy was established in 1851 and marks its 175th anniversary in 2026.

The anniversary celebration is scheduled for Monday, September 28, at 6 p.m. at Searcy City Hall.

The event is hosted by the White County Historical Society.
