The innovative Mobile Hub is designed to bring essential resources directly into neighborhoods, including educational tools, food distribution, and family support services.

Amanda Roberts with the Chamber welcomed attendees, calling the project “something truly meaningful for area students and families.”

Interim Superintendent David Campbell emphasized the collaboration behind the project, saying the Mobile Hub represents a “labor of love” from students, staff, and community partners.

Bringing Resources Directly to Families

The Mobile Hub is equipped with books, school supplies, hygiene products, baby essentials, and dedicated space for arts, crafts, and educational programming. It will also support food distribution and connect families with community services.

Ann Walmsley highlighted the mission behind the initiative, noting the bus allows schools to extend learning beyond the classroom and into the community.

“This isn’t just a bus—it’s an opportunity,” Walmsley said.

Student Innovation at the Center

A major highlight of the project is student involvement. Bentley Hughes helped design the interior using advanced tools like SketchUp and Adobe Illustrator. The design also earned recognition in the Fay Jones Architecture Competition.

Community partners including Spartan Motors, RAWK Imprinting, and Save the Children played key roles in bringing the Mobile Hub to life.

Wiley Osborne of Spartan Motors said the project helps remove barriers by delivering resources like clothing, school supplies, and health services directly to families.

Expanding Access Across Batesville

The Mobile Hub has already begun serving the community, including assisting with kindergarten registration, and will continue expanding its reach with additional events.
