Scammers are pretending to be law enforcement.

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office has issued a scam alert after receiving multiple reports in one day. The scammer is even impersonating one of their officers.

Scammer Is Impersonating Arkansas Police Officer

A scammer is impersonating a deputy named Sgt. McFarland, using the number 870-227-8607.

The fraudster claims residents missed jury duty and now have a warrant out for their arrest, demanding $500.

Authorities emphasize that they would never call about a warrant or request money over the phone.

If you receive such a call, do not send money, hang up, and block the number.
