Cushman Mayor Nichole Bryant Resigns Effective Immediately

Cushman Mayor Nichole Bryant has resigned from office, effective immediately.

Bryant submitted her resignation to the Cushman City Council on Wednesday, July 1. She had served as mayor since taking office in January 2025.

In her resignation letter, Bryant said the decision to step down “was not made lightly,” but that she believes it is in the best interest of both herself and the city. She did not provide a specific reason for her resignation.

Bryant thanked city leaders and residents for their trust, support and collaboration during her time in office and said serving as mayor had been an honor. She also expressed hope that the city will continue moving forward with integrity, stability and a commitment to public service.

City officials have not yet announced how the mayoral vacancy will be filled.

Dear Council Members and Residents of our Community,

After careful reflection, I am formally submitting my resignation as Mayor of the City, effective immediately. This decision was not made lightly, but I believe it is in the best interest of both me and the city.

Serving as Mayor has been an honor. I am deeply grateful for the trust placed in me, the collaboration we have shared, and the dedication shown by the many residents who work every day to make our community stronger.

I hope that the city will continue moving forward with integrity, stability, and a commitment to public service.
