A coordinated effort between Arkansas and Florida law enforcement agencies led to the arrest of a 52-year-old man wanted on serious charges out of state.
According to the Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were contacted by the St. Cloud Police Department in Florida requesting assistance in locating Adam Thomas Wahlgren, who was wanted on a warrant involving 80 counts of possession of materials depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child.
Deputies initially attempted to locate Wahlgren at a residence along Highway 31 North near Charlie Olds Road but were unsuccessful. Shortly after, a Flock camera alert indicated his vehicle was traveling northbound toward Beebe.
Investigators, working alongside the Beebe Police Department, located Wahlgren in the parking lot of an AutoZone in Beebe. Authorities say he was found sitting in his vehicle at the time of contact.
Wahlgren was taken into custody and is being held at the Lonoke County Sheriff’s Detention Center pending extradition to Florida.
Officials say the arrest highlights the effectiveness of interagency cooperation and modern technology in locating suspects quickly and safely.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
