Downtown Searcy was packed with activity over the weekend as Main Street Searcy’s Get Down Downtown festival brought live music, family activities, vendors, concessions and thousands of visitors into the heart of the city.

Great weather helped set the stage for a strong turnout Friday and Saturday, September 25-26, as families and visitors filled downtown Searcy for the annual festival.

ARKANSASRADIO.COM RADIO STATIONS BROADCAST LIVE

Adding to the excitement, the ArkansasRadio.com Radio Stations were broadcasting live from downtown Searcy to top off a week of promotions leading up to the festival.

CRAIG MORGAN CLOSES OUT SATURDAY NIGHT

One of the biggest crowds of the weekend gathered Saturday night around the Courthouse Square for a free concert featuring country star Craig Morgan.

Frank Ray and Copper Flats opened the evening before Morgan took the First Security Bank Stage at 8 p.m.

Festivalgoers brought lawn chairs and filled the downtown area for the free performances, which served as one of the biggest highlights of this year’s event.

LIVE MUSIC FILLS DOWNTOWN SEARCY

Music was featured throughout Friday evening and Saturday, with performances on the First Security Bank Stage drawing crowds throughout the festival.

The live entertainment helped create a festival atmosphere across downtown Searcy before Saturday night’s headline performances.

UNITY HEALTH KID ZONE DRAWS FAMILIES

Families also turned out Saturday for the Unity Health Kid Zone in historic Spring Park.

The free Kid Zone ran from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. and featured pony rides, a petting zoo, games, inflatables, face painting, karaoke and a special creature feature from the Little Rock Zoo.

Kid-friendly entertainment was also featured on the Unity Health Stage.

VENDORS, FOOD AND FUN THROUGHOUT DOWNTOWN

Vendors and concession operators lined the streets throughout the weekend, giving visitors plenty of food, shopping and activities to enjoy.

The festival also included the Funnel Cake 5K along with family activities throughout downtown Searcy.

GOOD WEATHER HELPS MAKE WEEKEND A SUCCESS

After weeks of hot late-summer weather across Arkansas, comfortable conditions helped make Get Down Downtown an ideal weekend for an outdoor festival.

The combination of good weather, free entertainment, family activities and live local radio coverage helped bring a strong crowd into downtown Searcy throughout the 2-day event.

Get Down Downtown was presented by the Searcy Advertising and Promotion Fund, with music sponsored in part by White River Flooring.
