Signed on January 14, 2026, Executive Order 26-01 authorizes $10,000 from the Governor’s Disaster Response and Recovery Fund, as permitted under Arkansas Code Annotated § 12-75-114. The supplemental funds are intended to support affected subdivisions with recovery efforts and help defray program and administrative costs incurred following the damaging weather events of last year.

The executive order amends Executive Order 25-05, originally issued on March 15, 2025, to expand the state’s financial support for mitigation and assistance programs in communities that experienced hardship, property damage, and disruptions due to severe thunderstorms and tornadoes.

Under the amendment, the Director of the Arkansas Division of Emergency Management will have discretion to allocate funds where they are most needed as recovery continues statewide.

Governor Sanders said the supplemental support underscores the state’s commitment to helping Arkansans recover and rebuild after natural disasters.

The executive order takes effect immediately as communities continue repair and resilience efforts.
