Mayflower Police Department Ends Speculation
No replacement company will replace Flock cameras in Mayflower.
All Flock cameras have been removed from the City of Mayflower. Services with the company have been terminated.
Officials have received questions about possible replacement cameras from another company. They want to dispel those rumors.
The Mayflower Police Department will not enter any contract similar to Flock Safety. It will not enroll in any comparable service.
The department will not participate in any form of mass surveillance of the community.
Community safety remains paramount. Officials remain committed to protecting citizens without compromise.
Here was their official announcement:
“All Flock cameras have been removed from the City of Mayflower and services have been terminated with the company. We have received questions regarding possible replacement of the Flock cameras with a different company, and we want to dispel those rumors. The Mayflower Police Department will not be entering into any contract or enrolling in any service similar to Flock Safety and will not participate in any form of mass surveillance of our community. The safety of our community remains paramount, and we remain committed to protecting our citizens without compromise.”
