Country music singer Andy Griggs will perform live Thursday night, Sept. 17, at the White County Fair in Searcy.
Griggs will take the fair’s entertainment stage at 7:30 p.m. Fans can expect to hear music from a career that includes “You Won’t Ever Be Lonely,” “She’s More,” “Tonight I Wanna Be Your Man,” “If Heaven” and “You Made Me That Way.”
Griggs signed with RCA Records after moving to Nashville and launched his recording career with “You Won’t Ever Be Lonely.” His official biography credits him with 2 No. 1 songs, 5 Top 5 songs and 4 additional Top 10 hits.
“Turn the sound on and listen to ‘You Won’t Ever Be Lonely!’ Then come hear it LIVE Thursday night at the White County Fair,” organizers said while promoting the concert.
The concert is part of a full Thursday schedule at the White County Fair. Gates and exhibit buildings open at 4 p.m., followed by the midway at 5 p.m. The White County Fair Junior Rodeo begins at 7 p.m., shortly before Griggs takes the stage at 7:30 p.m.
All exhibit buildings are scheduled to close at 8:30 p.m.
Thursday is also Senior Citizen and Veterans Day at the fair. Senior citizens and veterans receive free admission from 9 until 11 a.m. Regular Thursday admission is listed at $6 for children and $8 for adults.
The White County Fair continues through Saturday, Sept. 19, at the White County Fairgrounds, 802 Davis Drive in Searcy.
Friday’s schedule includes the Junior Market Animal Sale, presentation of livestock awards, the MWFA Demolition Derby and Round Track, live entertainment from Midnight South Band, the PRCA Rodeo and the Fifth Quarter celebration.
Saturday will feature midway rides, Power Wheels competition, the Demolition Derby and another night of PRCA Rodeo action.
