The Cave City School District has approved a major step forward in its campus development plans, announcing a new location for its upcoming elementary school building.

During the April board meeting, officials voted to relocate the new elementary facility to an area near the district’s Show Barn. Leaders say the move is designed to improve student safety, enhance traffic flow, and provide a stronger building foundation due to better soil conditions.
District officials noted the selected site offers a more level surface, allowing for more efficient construction and long-term stability. The decision follows discussions focused on ensuring the best possible environment for students, staff, and families.

The district’s architect is now working alongside construction manager FARCO to prepare a bid package for dirt work expected to begin in summer 2026. Officials anticipate the full building bid package could be ready by late fall.
School leaders say the project reflects continued community support and investment in education across the district.
They expressed appreciation to patrons of the Cave City School District for helping make the project possible.
