Students from Arkansas State University-Beebe are being recognized after earning multiple awards at the Arkansas SkillsUSA Conference held in Hot Springs.

School officials say the strong showing highlights the success of hands-on technical education programs. Vice Chancellor Dr. Blake Perkins praised students for their dedication and the role faculty play in preparing them for high-demand careers.

Among the winners, several students from Searcy placed across multiple categories, including automotive services, diesel technology, and power equipment technology. Team competitors from Pangburn and Austin earned first place in automated manufacturing technology.

Additional honors were awarded to students from Ward, Vilonia, and Little Rock. High school students, including participants from Searcy High School and Lonoke High School, also brought home awards in diesel technology and medical professions competitions.

Top winners will advance to the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference set for June 1 through June 5 in Atlanta, representing Arkansas on a national stage.

SkillsUSA is a national organization that prepares students for careers in trade, technical, and skilled service occupations, and is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Labor.
