A major safety upgrade has just been rolled out across Russellville, promising a rapid response to heart emergencies.
The City of Russellville has installed new Automated External Defibrillator (AED) boxes at multiple parks and recreation sites, offering residents immediate access to life‑saving equipment during cardiac events.
AED Boxes Installed in City Parks
City Hall announced that AED boxes are now placed at City Park, Pleasant View Park, M.J. Hickey Park, and the Russellville Soccer Complex. The installations were completed this week. The rollout was detailed in a City of Russellville announcement.
A fifth box is slated for Shiloh Park once bathroom construction there is finished. The timing of the installation has not yet been disclosed. The city said the location will be added as soon as construction is complete.
In a cardiac emergency, callers are instructed to dial 911, request the access code, and open the AED box. After opening, users should follow the step‑by‑step instructions on the device. The city provided these guidelines in its public notice.
Officials hope the visibility of the AEDs will encourage residents and visitors to act quickly if needed. They urged the community to spread the word about the new locations. The city stresses that having an AED can make a lifesaving difference.
