The 2024 Cybersecurity Summit in Little Rock, Arkansas started off with a bang.
Issues regarding ransomware attacks and internet fraud were covered by the speakers. Arkansas officials even revealed the problems facing computer owners in the state of Arkansas. It happened on October 7th at the State House Convention Center in Little Rock.
Preventative Measures And Biggest Issues
Many notable figures attended the event hosted by Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin including Congressman French Hill, Congressman Rick Crawford, and Senator Tom Cotton.
Tim Griffin gave a warning about cutting federal funding for cybersecurity during a discussion with Jen Easterly, the Director of U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).
Griffin said that although it’s tempting to say no federal money should be accepted by the state, it would put the state of Arkansas at risk of cyberattacks:
Congressman French Hill talked about the rise of cyberattacks all across the country hitting critical infrastructure. He says that there is a flaw in how many insurance companies don’t always require enough security.
Hill floated the idea of requiring insurance companies to require increased security for policy coverages as a preventative measure.
