Members of the Heber Springs Fire Department recently spent the day sharpening critical emergency response skills during a hands-on training exercise designed to strengthen firefighter readiness and teamwork.

Despite warm temperatures, firefighters participated in a variety of training scenarios focused on the skills they rely on when responding to emergencies throughout the community.
Training activities included vehicle extrication, ventilation techniques, forcible entry exercises, and other hands-on emergency response scenarios. Department leaders said the training provided valuable experience while reinforcing the importance of continuous learning and teamwork.
The Heber Springs Fire Department was joined by members of the Wilburn Fire Department for the training event, giving firefighters from both departments an opportunity to work together and strengthen relationships that can be vital during emergency situations.
Officials said training opportunities like these help ensure firefighters remain prepared to respond effectively when residents need them most.
The department thanked everyone who participated and praised the dedication and commitment shown throughout the day.
Fire officials say they look forward to putting the skills gained during the training exercise into action whenever they are called upon to serve their communities.
