Lyon College will host its Rocketeers Camp June 10-11 for students entering grades 7 through 12, offering hands-on STEM learning through model rocket design and launches in Batesville.

The camp will take place from 1 PM until 5:30 PM inside Room 131 of the Derby Center for Science and Mathematics on the Lyon College campus.
Students participating in the 2-day program will learn principles of physics and engineering while designing, building, and launching 2 model rockets during the camp.
Instruction will be led by Dr. Dave Thomas, Lyon College W.D. Bryan Professor of Biology and NASA Solar System Ambassador. Organizers say the camp is designed to encourage middle and high school students to explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through interactive experiences.
Registration is now open and the cost to attend is $100.
Additional information about Lyon College summer camps and registration is available at lyon.edu/summer-camps.
Lyon College, founded in 1872, is Arkansas’ oldest college operating under its original charter and continues expanding programs across the state, including planned veterinary medicine studies in Cabot and the recently opened School of Dental Medicine in Little Rock.
