A remarkable milestone was celebrated in White County as Thelma Spencer of Judsonia marked her 103rd birthday on Friday April 24, 2026 surrounded by her immediate family.
Born in 1923, Spencer has witnessed more than a century of history, from the presidency of Warren Harding to the rise of cultural icons like Babe Ruth. She has called White County home for 53 years.
Family members say she remains in fairly good health, though she is now housebound. A widow, Spencer spends her days enjoying morning religious devotions, watching television, staying connected with family, and taking time for rest.
Her family says her strong faith, positive attitude, and lifelong habits of avoiding smoking and alcohol may be key factors in her longevity.
Thelma Spencer’s story stands as an inspiring example of resilience, faith, and a life well lived in North Central Arkansas.
