The Arkansas State Highway Commission has released the Draft Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) for Federal Fiscal Years 2027-2030 and is inviting public comment through July 28, 2026.

The STIP outlines regionally significant transportation projects across Arkansas that will be completed in partnership with the Federal Highway Administration and the Federal Transit Administration. The federally required 4-year plan includes roadway improvements, bridge replacements, safety upgrades, intersection improvements, and public transit projects statewide.

Residents may review and download the draft document online or request a printed copy through the Arkansas Department of Transportation’s Program Management Division.

Projects within metropolitan areas with populations greater than 50,000 are coordinated through local Metropolitan Planning Organizations, which develop their own Transportation Improvement Programs.

State officials say the STIP is consistent with Arkansas’ long-range transportation plan and helps guide future investments that improve safety, mobility, and infrastructure throughout the state.

The public has until July 28 to submit comments before the plan is finalized.
