The City of Searcy is launching a new 12-week community fitness pilot program designed to make exercise more affordable and accessible for residents of all ages.
Searcy Parks & Recreation announced the debut of Searcy FIT (Fitness Inspired Together), which will run from March 30 through June 15. The program offers a variety of engaging classes tailored to different interests and fitness levels.
Class offerings include:
Strong & Steady Seniors
Express Rebound
Yoga
Senior Line Dancing
Middle Eastern Dance
Kickboxing
Residents are invited to attend an Open House on Friday, March 20, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Carmichael Community Center. Instructors will provide live demonstrations and answer questions about class schedules and registration.
Pricing ranges from $35 to $50 for the full 12-week session, depending on class selection and attendance frequency — making Searcy FIT one of the most affordable fitness programs in the area.
The program is made possible in part through a Waterbury Solar Community Grant, which supports the development of new community wellness initiatives. Grant funding allows the City to expand access to healthy activities while evaluating future recreation opportunities as Searcy continues to grow.
“This pilot program is about meeting people where they are and giving them more opportunities to prioritize their health,” said Parks and Recreation Director Mike Parsons. “We’re excited to introduce new classes that are fun, welcoming, and accessible to our entire community.”
The Searcy FIT program reflects the City’s continued commitment to enhancing quality of life through expanded recreation and wellness programming.
