The Arkansas Department of Health has launched a new toll-free hotline aimed at helping women across the state connect with pregnancy testing, prenatal care and other maternal health services.
The new Claim Your Care Hotline is available at 1-844-808-2340, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
According to the Arkansas Department of Health, callers can use the hotline to locate their nearest Arkansas Health Unit, ask questions about available services and schedule appointments for women’s and maternal health care.
Language assistance is also available. Callers who need an interpreter can be connected through a three-way call.
Services offered through Arkansas Health Units include pregnancy testing, prenatal care, blood work, women’s health services, infectious disease screenings, gestational diabetes testing, blood pressure monitoring, fetal heart rate checks and growth monitoring.
Health units also provide postpartum care, breastfeeding support, mental health screenings, WIC enrollment and referrals for additional medical care.
Arkansas Surgeon General Dr. Kay Chandler said regular prenatal care can help reduce the risk of serious complications and death for both mothers and babies.
“Early and regular visits allow healthcare providers to identify and manage health concerns early, including gestational diabetes, high blood pressure, and other complications that may arise during pregnancy and delivery,” Chandler said.
The hotline is part of the Claim Your Care campaign, a statewide maternal health education initiative launched by Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders in May 2026.
The campaign is designed to increase awareness of maternal health services available through Arkansas Health Units and help women connect with care earlier in pregnancy.
State officials say the effort also supports Arkansas’ broader maternal health initiatives under the Healthy Moms, Healthy Babies Act.
Arkansas Health Units operate in all 75 counties.
Appointments are not required, although the Department of Health encourages patients to schedule ahead to make sure the appropriate provider is available.
Health units accept insurance. According to ADH, people without insurance or with a limited ability to pay may receive services with no out-of-pocket cost.
In addition to pregnancy and maternal health services, Arkansas Health Units provide immunizations, family planning services, confidential testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections, breastfeeding assistance and WIC nutrition services.
Patients can also be connected with hospitals, specialists and community resources when additional care is needed.
