The Batesville School District has selected new leadership following action by the Batesville School Board.
The board voted to name David Campbell as the district’s new superintendent and Rachel Horn as assistant superintendent during its meeting Wednesday night, filling the district’s top administrative positions following the recent departure of former Superintendent Dr. Ginni McDonald.
Campbell will assume responsibility for leading the district’s academic programs, daily operations, finances and long-range planning while working with the school board to guide the future of Batesville Public Schools.
Horn will serve as assistant superintendent, helping oversee district operations, instructional support, personnel and other administrative responsibilities.
The appointments come as the district prepares for the start of the 2026-2027 school year and mark a new chapter for Batesville Public Schools after weeks of leadership transition.
Additional details regarding the appointments, contract terms and transition timeline are expected to be released by the district.
