Arkansas State University-Beebe has announced that Jamie Cooper, associate director of financial aid, has earned the nationally recognized Financial Aid Administrator Certification credential.
The FAAC designation is awarded through the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators’ Certified Financial Aid Administrator Program.
According to ASU-Beebe, Cooper is currently 1 of only 10 financial aid professionals in Arkansas to hold the certification.
VICE CHANCELLOR PRAISES ACCOMPLISHMENT
Dr. Amber Black, vice chancellor for student services at ASU-Beebe, congratulated Cooper on earning the national certification.
“We congratulate Jamie on earning the national financial aid certification,” Black said. “This is a significant professional accomplishment that reflects her hard work, dedication, and commitment to providing exceptional service to our students and their families.”
Black said the certification demonstrates Cooper’s commitment to helping students and families understand their financial aid options.
CERTIFICATION REQUIRES KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
The FAAC designation recognizes financial aid professionals who have demonstrated knowledge and experience in administering federal student aid programs.
Candidates must meet eligibility requirements involving education, professional experience and ethical conduct before taking the certification examination.
According to NASFAA, the examination consists of approximately 115 multiple-choice questions covering 12 areas of financial aid administration.
Those areas include:
Institutional eligibility
Data management
Administrative capability
Consumer information
Cash management
Student eligibility
Cost of attendance and need analysis
Awarding and packaging
Verification
Return of Title IV funds
Satisfactory academic progress
Professional judgment
Candidates must also agree to follow NASFAA’s Statement of Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct.
The certification must be renewed every 3 years. Credential holders must complete continuing education and other professional development activities to remain certified.

University officials said the certification underscores ASU-Beebe’s commitment to ensuring students receive knowledgeable guidance as they navigate federal, state and institutional financial aid programs.
Financial aid can include grants, scholarships, student loans and work-study opportunities. Staff members help students understand eligibility requirements, complete necessary forms and maintain access to available assistance.
