43-Year-Old Clinton Woman Killed in Head-On Crash on Highway 25 Near Southside

A 43-year-old Clinton woman was killed and a 75-year-old Batesville woman was injured Friday afternoon in a head-on collision on State Highway 25 in Independence County.

According to a preliminary fatal crash report from the Arkansas State Police, the crash happened at approximately 5:05 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at State Highway 25 and Ponderosa Road near Southside.

State Police identified the woman killed as Michelle Pack, 43, of Clinton.

Pack was driving a 2020 Chrysler southbound on State Highway 25.

The other driver, identified by State Police as Bonnie Sprouse, 75, of Batesville, was driving a 2016 Ram 3500 northbound on Highway 25.

According to the preliminary report, the Ram crossed the centerline and struck Pack’s Chrysler head-on.

Pack died as a result of the crash.

Sprouse was injured and transported to White River Medical Center for treatment. The preliminary report did not provide additional information concerning the extent of her injuries.

State Police reported that weather conditions were clear and the roadway was dry at the time of the collision.

Pack’s body was held at Doty Funeral Home.

Next of kin was notified.

Arkansas State Police Trooper Nicholas R. Ade investigated the crash.

The wreck is listed as Fatal Crash 279 and Accident 267 in the Arkansas State Police 2026 preliminary fatal crash summaries.
