The ArkansasRadio.com Radio Stations are taking their to Arkansas communities on the road For Arkansas Shiip Day, visiting senior centers across the region as part of a special Senior Tour featuring live radio broadcasts, activities, fellowship and valuable information for older Arkansans.
The tour has already made stops at senior centers in Fairfield Bay, Des Arc and Lonoke, bringing the radio stations directly into the communities they serve.
Photos from the tour show packed senior centers, bingo games, meals, activities and ArkansasRadio.com broadcasting live from the events.
The tour is being held in conjunction with Arkansas SHIIP, the State Health Insurance Assistance Program, giving seniors an opportunity to receive free, confidential and unbiased Medicare information from trained counselors.
SHIP representatives are helping Arkansans better understand Medicare, available coverage options and ways they may be able to save money on prescription medications.
FAIRFIELD BAY
Arkansas Shiip Day the Senior Tour brought ArkansasRadio.com to the Fairfield Bay Senior Community Center, where area residents turned out for a day of activities, food, fellowship and information.
The Fairfield Bay stop included bingo and other activities, while representatives provided information and resources for seniors.
ArkansasRadio.com was also on location broadcasting live, with station signs from KWCK 99.9, Cool 104.7 & 99.1, Timeless 106.1 KFFB, Cowboy Country 100.7 KEAZ and The Bull 105.7 KBGB displayed inside the center.
The Fairfield Bay Senior Community Center regularly provides area seniors with activities including games, bingo, pool, arts and crafts, exercise classes and potluck gatherings.
DES ARC
The tour continued at the Des Arc Senior Citizen Center, where ArkansasRadio.com once again set up for a live broadcast and joined local seniors for another day of activities.
The Des Arc stop gave seniors an opportunity to visit with representatives, learn more about available programs and services, and enjoy time with friends and neighbors.
ArkansasRadio.com’s stations were represented outside the center as the radio group continued its effort to take live local radio directly into communities throughout its listening area.
LONOKE
The tour also rolled into Lonoke, where another large crowd participated in activities and received information and resources.
Arkansas SHIP and the Senior Medicare Patrol were among the programs represented, providing information designed to help seniors understand Medicare and protect themselves against Medicare fraud.
Activities were also part of the day, giving participants an opportunity to socialize and enjoy themselves while learning about programs available to them.
The Senior Tour is designed to be more than simply a live radio broadcast. It is an opportunity for ArkansasRadio.com personalities and staff to meet listeners face-to-face while helping connect seniors with organizations and resources that can make a difference in their lives.
NEXT STOP: ENGLAND ON TUESDAY
The Senior Tour isn’t finished.
Arkansas Shiip Day with ArkansasRadio.com broadcasting live Tuesday at the England Senior Center, 100 East Taylor Street in England, from 9 a.m. until Noon.
The Arkansas SHIP Day event will feature free bingo, prizes and important Medicare information.
Certified local SHIP counselors will be available to provide free, confidential and unbiased Medicare guidance, including information about ways seniors may be able to save money on prescription medications.
THEN IT’S ON TO CONWAY FRIDAY
The tour continues Friday at the Conway Senior Center, where ArkansasRadio.com will once again be on location broadcasting live.
The Conway stop will continue the tour’s mission of bringing together seniors, local resources, helpful information and live local radio.
