An 86-year-old Jacksonville woman died and another Jacksonville resident was injured following a 2-vehicle crash in rural Lonoke County, according to the Arkansas State Police.
The crash occurred at approximately 4:35 p.m. on Friday, June 19, at the intersection of State Highway 294 and Robin Road.
Authorities identified the victim as Patsy C. Vick, 86, of Jacksonville, who was driving a 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe westbound on Highway 294.
According to the preliminary Arkansas State Police fatal crash report, a 2013 Audi Q5 driven by Granville J. Reynolds III, 46, of Jacksonville, had stopped westbound on Highway 294 to make a left turn onto Robin Road when Vick’s vehicle struck the rear of the Audi.
Vick was pronounced dead following the crash. Reynolds was injured and transported to Baptist Springhill Medical Center for treatment.
At the time of the crash, weather conditions were cloudy, and the roadway was dry.
Arkansas State Police Trooper Blayn Lucas investigated the fatal crash.
