Bald Knob Police Arrest Suspect In Trumann Armed Robbery Investigation

A suspect wanted in connection with an armed robbery at a Trumann tobacco store has been arrested after the Bald Knob Police Department took him into custody in White County.

According to the Trumann Police Department, Willie Ray Jones was arrested Tuesday on a warrant charging him with aggravated robbery following an investigation into the June 17 robbery at Smokes Tobacco Store, located at 1714 Highway 69 in Trumann.

Trumann Police Chief Doug Thomas said officers executed a search warrant Monday, June 22, at a residence on Viva Drive in Trumann. Following the search, investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Jones, who police said lives at the residence.

Authorities said the Bald Knob Police Department located and arrested Jones Tuesday in White County. He was taken into custody without incident.

The investigation remains ongoing.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
