The annual Arkansas Governor’s Academic Competition “Quiz Bowl 2026” returns Saturday, April 25, showcasing top high school talent from across the state. The event will air beginning at 9 a.m. on Arkansas PBS and stream live online.

A total of 14 teams across 7 conferences will compete for state titles and scholarship money. Matches will air in 2 sessions, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and again from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
First-round matchups include Valley View vs. Paragould, Trumann vs. Westside (Jonesboro), Guy-Perkins vs. Scranton, and Benton vs. Russellville. Afternoon rounds feature Fort Smith Southside vs. Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts, Haas Hall Fayetteville vs. Bentonville, and Hazen vs. Conway Christian.
The competition tests students in literature, math, science, history, art, music, and economics. The program has been a statewide tradition since 1985, celebrating academic excellence and preparing students for national competition opportunities.
