Man Arrested For Grooming Minor Claimed He Thought It Was His Wife
Hanna was re-arrested on January 24, 2025, at 11:37 AM, charged with Rape of a person less than 14 years old and Second Degree Sexual Assault. He is being held on a $1,000,000 bond with a court date set for March 4, 2025, according to White County Sheriff’s Office.
According to court documents, Hanna was re-arrested because he reportedly failed to appear in court as required on November 22, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., prompting the White County Circuit Court to issue an alias bench warrant. Despite having posted a bail bond, no reasonable excuse was provided for Hanna’s absence.
A bond was then set at a whopping $1 million in cash after the incident.
Hanna’s charges stem from incidents alleged to have occurred on July 31 and August 1, 2022, where Hanna engaged in criminal activities with an alleged victim, who is under 14 years of age.
Hanna’s defense claims he mistook the minor for his wife during the events in question. He claims he never opened his eyes for 10 to 15 minutes to realize he was with a child at the time.
The case has drawn attention due to the severity of the charges, with Hanna facing a Class Y Felony for Rape and a Class B Felony for Sexual Assault.
