After a discovery of credit card “skimmers” in Calico Rock, Mountain View police aren’t taking any chances.

The Mountain View Police Department announced they conducted searches at all local gas stations to make sure no dangerous devices were stealing consumer credit card information. None have been found so far.

Mountain View Police Search For Credit Card “Skimmers”

It all started when the Izard County Sheriff’s Office reported that a dangerous “device” that stole credit card information was found at a gas station pump in Calico Rock.

Sheriff Melton advised the public to be on the watch for these devices to make sure that credit card scanners were not tampered with.

As a result, the Mountain View Police Department have confirmed that they have had officers go around checking gas station pumps in Mountain View, Arkansas:

“We were contacted by Sheriff Melton and had Officers go to our local gas stations to check with them for tampering and notify them of the incident in Calico Rock.”

They are on the lookout with a mission to keep the public safe. Thankfully, no new skimmers have been found as of their latest statement.
