“Tropical” Weather Event Headed To Arkansas Amid Wildfire Risk

, , Comments Off on “Tropical” Weather Event Headed To Arkansas Amid Wildfire Risk

Arkansas is currently experiencing drought conditions with dry air that increases risk of wildfires, according to the National Weather Service:

“Dry air will be in place Monday. Afternoon RH values are expected to fall to near 20% in many areas. This could lead to an increase in wildfire danger across the state during the afternoon hours.”

Now something unexpected is about to add to the drama.

Starting Wednesday, a weather pattern called “Potential Tropical Cyclone Six” is headed toward Arkansas. You can expect the arrival of showers and thunderstorms due to a weakening tropical system moving inland from the Texas/Louisiana coast.

“Tropical Cyclone Six” To Influence Arkansas Weather

The weather will happen on Wednesday.

This incoming weather system might bring locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds, particularly in eastern parts of Arkansas, although the risk of severe weather remains low.

The system, initially identified as Potential Tropical Cyclone Six, is forecasted to influence Arkansas after making landfall to the south, potentially affecting the state with its remnants through early Friday.

It’s important to stay on top of the weather situation in your area. Thankfully, we have a Weather Center that you can visit to see a live radar of weather conditions across the state.
