A Sage man is being held on a $250,000 bond after being arrested on multiple charges involving alleged crimes against children.

According to jail records, 42-year-old Brandon Lara of Sage was booked into the Izard County Detention Center on June 11. He is charged with 3 counts of Sexual Assault in the 2nd Degree, 1 count of Sexual Indecency With a Child, and 1 count of Sexually Grooming a Child.
According to court documents, the investigation began after reports were received in April from 2 individuals who alleged they had been sexually abused by Lara when they were children. The alleged victims, who are now adults, reported incidents occurring over several years in Izard County and other Arkansas counties.
Court records indicate one alleged victim reported multiple incidents of sexual assault, while another alleged victim reported being exposed to pornography and forced to perform sexual acts.
Authorities said Arkansas State Police Special Agent Tyler Webb conducted a post-Miranda interview with Lara. According to the affidavit, Lara allegedly admitted to sexually assaulting 1 victim on multiple occasions. Court documents state Lara described himself as a “hypersexual person” and attributed his behavior to what he called a “lust demon,” along with substance abuse and mental health issues.
Investigators executed a search warrant at Lara’s residence on June 11. According to court records, law enforcement officers recovered multiple items, including pornographic materials and digital media.
Lara remains jailed on a $250,000 bond.
As with all criminal cases, the charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
