Cave City Schools officially inducted its Hall of Fame Class of 2026 during a ceremony held Friday night, honoring four individuals whose achievements and service have left a lasting impact on the school and community.
The Class of 2026 includes Mary Cordell Gay (Class of 1962), Coach Jamie King, Tyler Engleman (Class of 2010), and K.O. James Distinguished Service Award recipient Allan Abel Carrerio (Class of 1984).

Mary Cordell Gay was one of Cave City’s top girls basketball players of the early 1960s. Competing in the 3-on-3 era, she was a prolific scorer with multiple 20-point games, including a standout 34-point performance against Mammoth Spring. A two-time All-County selection, Gay helped establish the foundation for future success in Cave City girls athletics.
Coach Jamie King led the Cave City basketball program for 27 seasons, compiling 397 career wins, six state tournament appearances, and three regional championships. His historic 34–2 season in 2007 ranks among the best in Arkansas high school basketball history. Beyond wins, King influenced facility development, mentored generations of student-athletes, served in administration, and founded the Cave City Hall of Fame.
Tyler Engleman is widely regarded as the best running back in school history. A member of the Class of 2010, Engleman powered Cave City’s historic 2009 conference championship team. A multi-time All-Conference and All-State selection, he finished his career with more than 3,000 rushing yards and 43 touchdowns, including a legendary three-touchdown performance that clinched the conference title.
The K.O. James Distinguished Service Award was presented to Allan Abel Carrerio, Class of 1984. Known for energizing crowds as the Caveman mascot during his school years, Carrerio went on to serve a 36-year career in the United States Air Force, including deployments in three combat zones and leadership assignments around the world. He retired in 2021 with numerous military honors.
School officials congratulated all inductees and thanked them for their lasting contributions to Cave City High School and the broader community.
