A 21-year-old McCrory man was killed and 3 others were injured Saturday afternoon in a rollover crash on Fox Meadow Road in rural White County, according to the Arkansas State Police.
The fatal crash occurred at approximately 3:47 p.m. on July 4.
According to the preliminary Arkansas State Police fatal crash report, a 2013 GMC Sierra was traveling northbound on Fox Meadow Road when it left the roadway to the right. Investigators said the driver over-corrected while attempting to return to the roadway, then over-corrected again, causing the pickup to enter a roll. The vehicle rolled multiple times before coming to rest in a ditch.
Chad Veazey, 21, of McCrory, who was a passenger in the pickup, died from injuries sustained in the crash. His body was taken to the White County Coroner.
Three others were injured in the crash, including Richard Pace, 18, of Bald Knob, Addyson Jordan, 20, of Bradford, and a minor. All were transported to Unity Health for treatment.
Troopers reported rainy weather and wet road conditions at the time of the crash.
The accident remains under investigation by Arkansas State Police Trooper Justin Parrish.
All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
