French Hill joined ArkansasRadio.com’s Open Mic program to discuss federal spending, Medicare Advantage claim denials, tensions involving Iran, and efforts to pass a balanced budget amendment.
Here the interview program below.
During the interview, Hill announced his latest “Golden Fleece Award,” targeting the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services over issues involving prior authorization claims under Medicare Advantage. Hill said an inspector general report found nearly 20% of claims were improperly denied, creating delays for medical procedures and treatments for senior citizens.
Hill also discussed growing concerns involving Iran, saying the nation’s military capabilities have been weakened by United States and Israeli actions but warning Iran still remains a threat through drones, ballistic missiles, and support of terrorist groups including Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis.
The congressman defended President Donald Trump’s approach toward Iran, saying the administration is attempting to stop the country from becoming another nuclear-armed rogue nation.
Hill also spoke about his support for a balanced budget amendment to the United States Constitution. He said rising interest payments on the national debt have become one of the country’s biggest financial challenges and stressed the need for bipartisan reforms to reduce deficit spending.
The interview concluded with discussion about America’s upcoming 250th birthday celebration in 2026, with Hill encouraging families to celebrate the nation’s history and freedoms.
