A special firearm “tracking” system has led to the arrest of an Arkansas burglary suspect.
The suspect was arrested after he grabbed a “bait gun” in an Arkansas burglary. A bait gun which is a gun equipped with a tracker that could be used to track the gun. The news was announced by the United States Attorney’s Office of the Western District of Louisiana.
“Bait Gun” Leads To Arkansas Suspects Arrest Out Of State
Brandon B. Brown, the United States Attorney in Louisiana, announced the sentencing of 32-year-old Nocalm Robinson from Monroe, Louisiana, to 60 months in prison for firearm possession by a felon.
The sentencing was handed down by Judge David C. Joseph after Robinson’s March 2024 indictment related to a December 2023 burglary in East Whelen, Arkansas, involving a tracked “bait gun.”
The Clark County Sheriff’s Office tracked the gun to Robinson’s residence in Monroe, Louisiana where a search uncovered four firearms, including the tracked Intratec 22, which is a semi-automatic handgun.
Robinson, with prior felony convictions, admitted to illegal possession and was sentenced after pleading guilty.
The case involved cooperation between multiple law enforcement agencies and was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert F. Moody.
