On April 3, 2025, the Rogers Police Department in Rogers, Arkansas, addressed a surge in noise complaints. They think the surge involves illegal car modifications in the area.

Complaints Reported In Rogers Arkansas Of Loud Noises Related To Cars

The department noted an uptick in reports about disruptive vehicle noise over recent months. They’re now urging drivers to brush up on the rules.

Arkansas Code 27-37-601 requires all vehicles to have a working muffler. Modifications that amplify noise beyond factory specs are illegal.

Rogers’ City Code Sec. 18-24 bans “unreasonably loud” and “disturbing” noises. It’s a broad rule aimed at keeping the peace.

The ordinance also prohibits noise that harms health or disrupts public welfare. Loud exhausts, officials say,A cross that line.

Police are starting with awareness, not tickets. They want drivers to comply before enforcement ramps up.
