On Tuesday, February 4th, around 12:30am, Searcy Police Officers responded to a structure fire at 800 East Moore.
On arrival Searcy Police attempted to speak with a suspicious female, identified as Atina Wagner (36 years old / Searcy, AR) near the structure fire. Wagner ignored Officers commands to stop and began fleeing.
Police Make Arrest After Fire
Searcy Police apprehended Wagner when she continued resisting Officer’s commands and trying to flee. Wagner was taken into custody and transported to the White County Jail for booking. Once at the jail, Wagner continued resisting arrest and struck a Deputy Jailor.
Searcy Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division responded for further investigation.
Wagner was charged with Criminal Mischief (5-38-203) – D Felony, Battery 2nd (5-13-202) – D Felony, Criminal Trespass (5-39-203) – A Misdemeanor, Resisting Arrest (5-54-103) – A Misdemeanor, Obstruction of Governmental Operations (5-54-102) – A Misdemeanor, Fleeing (5-54-125) – A Misdemeanor
The cause of the fire and this incident is still under investigation.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
