Get ready, Arkansas! The legendary Big Boy No. 4014 is heading your way as part of its “Heartland of America Tour.” The iconic locomotive will depart from Cheyenne, Wyoming, on Wednesday, August 28th, and journey through nine states, including Arkansas.
I’ve seen this impressive train up close, and it’s an experience you and your kids won’t want to miss. Big Boy is set to roll into northeast Arkansas on Friday, September 13th, with stops planned in Piggot, Hickory Ridge, Brinkley, Pine Bluff, North Little Rock, Kingsland, and Texarkana.
The locomotive will continue its journey out of Arkansas on September 17th, heading towards Texas.
Here’s a fun fact: Of the 25 Big Boy steam engines ever built, No. 4014 is the only one still in operation today.
