The Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission is searching for outdoor enthusiasts and conservation-minded individuals to join its team as part-time Conservation Specialists across Arkansas.

The positions will support stewardship efforts on nearly 80,000 acres within the state’s System of Natural Areas. While offices are based in Little Rock, much of the work will take place outdoors in field locations across Arkansas.

Responsibilities include prescribed burns, boundary marking, trail and infrastructure maintenance, invasive species removal, and plant and animal surveys.

Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in natural resource management, biology, forestry, or a related field. Candidates must also be able to work outdoors in varying field conditions while contributing positively to team operations and communication efforts.

Officials say the position offers a chance to help protect Arkansas’ natural heritage while gaining valuable conservation experience.

Applications are now being accepted online through the State of Arkansas careers website.
