Registration is now open for The Old Independence Regional Museum Mini Cake Competition happening Saturday, June 6 during the grand opening celebration of the new wedding exhibit at The Old Independence Regional Museum in Batesville Arkansas.
Museum officials say the exhibit will feature historic wedding dresses dating back to 1907 along with displays exploring the evolution of courtship traditions and wedding customs through the decades.
The Wedding Exhibit opens at 10 AM, with Mini Cake Competition judging beginning around 11 AM.
Contest organizers say cakes must be wedding-themed and designed as mini wedding cakes serving approximately 5 to 10 people. Entries will be judged on appearance, theme, taste, and texture. Cakes will also be served to guests following judging.
The winner will receive a trophy and a special museum prize.
Officials say contestants must submit their cake flavor by June 2 so flavor signs can be prepared. Registration closes May 27 at 5 PM.
