In observance of National Police Week, Stone County Sheriff Brandon Long recognized and thanked the men and women in law enforcement who dedicate their lives to protecting and serving their communities across Arkansas.
Sheriff Long expressed appreciation for the courage, sacrifice, and commitment shown daily by officers serving in Stone County and throughout the state.
During the week of remembrance, the Sheriff’s Office also honored Sergeant Mike Stephen and Deputy Justin Smith, who made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting the citizens of Stone County.
Officials said their bravery, dedication, and service will never be forgotten.
The Sheriff’s Office also recognized all current and former law enforcement officers, especially those who lost their lives in the line of duty.
Sheriff Long closed the statement with the scripture Matthew 5:9.
