The Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) has released its April 2026 General Revenue Report, showing strong economic performance with revenues exceeding both last year’s totals and state forecasts.

Year-to-date, net available general revenues reached $5,870.2 million, up $404.7 million (7.4%) compared to the same period in FY 2025. Revenues are also $226.1 million (4.0%) above forecast, signaling continued economic stability across Arkansas.
Gross general revenues totaled $7,136.8 million, an increase of $284.3 million (4.1%) year-over-year and $189.2 million above projections.
Key Revenue Drivers
Individual income tax collections led the gains, totaling $3,266.0 million, up 6.6% from last year and 3.9% above forecast. Meanwhile, sales and use tax collections reached $3,031.2 million, rising 3.8% year-over-year.
Corporate income tax collections came in at $404.5 million, slightly down from last year but still 6.4% above forecast expectations.
Refund activity also declined, with individual income tax refunds totaling $501.0 million, down 15.2% from the previous year.
April 2026 Snapshot
For April alone, Arkansas saw significant growth:

Net available revenues: $832.4 million, up 28.5% year-over-year

Gross revenues: $1,079.6 million, up 14.8%

Individual income tax collections: $596.8 million, up 20.7%

Officials note part of the increase is tied to timing differences from 2025, when tax deadlines were extended by Sarah Huckabee Sanders, shifting payments into later months.
Sales and use tax collections for April totaled $320.4 million, reflecting steady consumer activity across most sectors.
Education Funding Impact
The Educational Adequacy Fund, which supports Arkansas schools, received $73.1 million in April collections, marking a 4.4% increase over last year.
