Voters across the state headed to the polls as runoff elections concluded, deciding key statewide and local races.

In the statewide contest, State Senator Kim Hammer secured the Republican nomination for Arkansas Secretary of State, advancing as the GOP candidate.

In White County Arkansas, Clayton Edwards won the Republican nomination for sheriff, securing his spot on the general election ballot. He said, “I’m incredibly thankful to the voters of White County for showing up and supporting me in this runoff. The people here have always been good to me, and tonight’s results show that trust—and I truly appreciate it.”

A closely contested race unfolded in Van Buren County Arkansas, where Matthew Beeson defeated incumbent Sheriff Eric Koonce by just 16 votes to claim the Republican nomination for sheriff. Matthew Beeson said, “To God be the glory. Thank you to each and every person that prayed for me and my family during this election. Thank you to each person that come out and voted. Your voices were heard. I ask for your prayers. For wisdom and guidance as we move Van Buren county towards action, not reaction.”

In Stone County Arkansas, Tim Hudspeth won the runoff election to become the Republican nominee for County Judge.

Election officials report strong voter participation in several counties, with tight margins highlighting the importance of turnout in runoff races across Arkansas.
