State and community leaders gathered in Batesville this week to highlight the impact of partnerships supporting students and families across Independence County.

The visit included Jacob Oliva, Secretary of the Arkansas Department of Education, along with members of his team and leaders from Restore Hope, the organization behind the 100 Families Initiative.

During the visit, officials toured the HUB, also known as the Batesville School District Family Resource Center, where they learned how collaboration between schools and community partners is helping connect families with essential resources.

Batesville School District is the first school district in Arkansas to serve as the backbone organization for the 100 Families Initiative in partnership with Restore Hope. The program works to align services and strengthen support systems for families through coordinated care and the district’s Family Advocate program.

Leaders say the HUB plays a key role in providing access to services that improve student success and family stability across the region.

The visit showcased how partnerships between education, state leadership, and community organizations are making a measurable difference in the lives of students and families in Batesville and throughout Independence County.
